Still tantalizingly close to having this go live, and still not quite there. Final touches to developer portal are being made. We’ve had a couple of back-and-forth exchanges with legal, so I’m hopeful we’ll have the necessary licenses etc available later this week. We need to decide whether to call the page on which developers will be able to test the various API methods a sandbox or a demo page, and it looks like sandbox may not be technically correct (we are a dictionary site, after all). Decisions, decisions. Next week we’ll meet with someone from Digital Sales to try to get the whole business back end set up; that should be interesting.

Meanwhile, we have internal and external customers playing around with the API, and so far nothing seems too far off the mark. Daniel built a proof-of-concept mobile version of our main website with the API and it works pretty nicely right off the shelf. Need to touch base with our external customers to see how they’re getting on with it.
